FAQs
Business hours:
I work full time while I grow my photography business on the side which means late nights and long weekends - and I wouldn't have it any other way! So I will reply to enquiries as soon as possible.
Please note that due to the fact I have two jobs, the time at which I reply to messages will be convenient for me and may not always be convenient for you, which I understand and do not expect you to reply straight away!
My main availability for photoshoots is Saturdays and Sundays. However if you have an enquiry for a week day, please do still reach out and I will see if I have the availability for your required date.
Important information for your booking:
What you can expect when working with me
Before your session: After your enquiry I will reach out to gather a bit more information from you and offer you a consultation call. After our call I will compile a photoshoot document for you with all the information you will need in the leadup to your session with; what to bring, inspiration pics, a timeline etc. and also close communication should you have any questions. You'll also receive a contract/ license agreement. During your photoshoot: You'll receive posing guidance, reassurance that you're doing great and reminders to take a minute to reset if you need to. Photoshoots with me are a safe space without judgement. After your photoshoot: You'll be able to see your previews in the pre-agreed preview timeline for you to choose your favourite images from and add any images on to your package if you would like. I'll then begin editing. Your images will then e delivered in an online digital gallery and stored online for you to download for a maximum of 3 months before the gallery is taken down. If you have any questions about your images I am available to help you with any queries.
My editing style
Every photographer has a different editing style which should be considered when booking one. To me, post-production is just as important to photography as is taking the photograph - and it's part of the fun! I like my images to look polished and aesthetically pleasing. My focus is more on highlighting the overall feel of the image, so you'll find that my images have a welcoming, bright feel to them but I don't use the exact same editing style for each project. I also don't heavily re-touch my images, especially my portraits. I believe in removing what may be distracting or is only there temporarily. For example; on a location photoshoot, I may get rid of anything in the background that may be distracting or takes away from the vibe like bins; or in portraits I can retouch blemishes, bruises, stray hairs and LIGHTLY smooth skin. My editing ethos is retouching to compliment your beauty, not replace it! Your skin should still look like your skin. I won't ever photoshop someone's body shape, change someone facial features or remove anything that is genetic like moles, freckles etc. I'm a massive advocate for natural beauty and self love, we've grown up with unrealistic beauty standards being forced on us, it's time for that to change.
Why you should work with me
The time has come where you would like to book a photographer, that's exciting! You want someone that gets your vision and is able to work with you to make your dreams a reality. You want to work with someone who is able to set expectations for your requirements and work WITH you, not for you. You're looking for someone who is just as excited about your photoshoot as you are and you know will take good care of your images. You're seeking someone who is a great communicator with excellent time management skills, and can make you feel at ease on a photoshoot. Perhaps you're also after someone who has the ability to manage a team and is able to build a creative team (where needs be). That's me! I'm someone who understands how daunting it can be getting in front of a camera with having modeling experience myself, is able to apply event management experience from my full time work to photoshoots and understands the needs for business owners to get photographs that not only showcase their brand but also markets it. I'm an open book, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me an email.
Retainers/ Deposits
The retainer to secure your booking is non-refundable. If rescheduling is required I will try my best to accommodate your request if suitable notice is given (the rescheduling notice will be outlined in your service agreement). Retainers must be secured upon receipt. Unfortunately your date is not secured until the retainer has been sent. If you need to delay your payment please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your request where possible. Please make sure the remainder of your balance is paid by the invoice due date to ensure timely delivery of your gallery!
Extra Time
I want to get all the photos you want! Where possible I can accommodate extra time requests on the day. I won't charge for an extra hour, however this will not automatically increase the amount of edited photos in your package. If you would like to add extra images please let me know before you finalise your chosen photos.
Any photoshoots within Cardiff will not incur an additional travel fee. Bookings outside of the city of Cardiff may be subject to an additional travel fee which will be highlighted in your service agreement and discussed with you prior to booking.
Travel
I completely respect my clients requests for privacy. As a photographer that heavily relies on the majority of my enquiries coming from online platforms, it's important I am able to show my most up-to-date work in order to attract future clients. However, I do appreciate some people don't want their images posted on social media/ online due to personal safety concerns. If you do not wish for your photos to be shared, please inform me when enquiring, before your contract is sent.
I Don't Want My Images Posted Online
Raw/ Unedited Images
I do not provide RAW/ Unedited images as part of my standard services. As the final images provided are associated with my name and work, I want my clients to receive images inline with the artistic style they have booked me for. I am happy to discuss altering edits if necessary after a discussion with my clients as I want to make sure that they are happy with the images delivered (please note, when booking me, you are booking my expertise and artistic eye, I will not be able to deliver images that fall far out of my stylistic norm.). If you are looking for RAW images on gallery delivery, a discussion must be had before a service agreement is signed and a buy-out clause and costing will be added.
Running Late/ Rescheduling
As I have another job whilst running my photography business, I have time constraints on shoot days, and if you are running late please let me know as soon as possible as I may not be able to extend our shooting time together! Where possible, I will accommodate rescheduling requests as long as they fall inline with your contract/ service agreement.
What To Bring
I will advise you on what to bring with you on your photoshoot. But, here are some examples: Water/ a drink A suitable pair of shoes if on location A hair brush (if needed!) If we are shooting on the beach/ in a body of water, please bring a towel. I have a changing tent I can bring with me if we have agreed on multiple outfits during our photoshoot.
I don't take cash payments for photoshoots. An online invoice will be sent to you for your retainer and remaining balance, and studio hire fee where applicable.
